What the reader will find is that owning a business is not as easy as it sounds, while providing the fundamental concepts needed to assess and operate a small business. The book focuses on the laundromat industry, however the principles are applicable to any aspiring business owner.
About the Author
Chris Price is the author of The Laundromat Handbook, a guide to due diligence and valuation for the laundromat industry. Like many others, Chris got into the laundromat business with dreams of greatness buy the store and watch those coins start piling up! But only after going through his first deal, did he realize how much he didn't know. After making a few stumbles himself, he is sharing some of the information he has learned as a laundry owner.
In addition to being an aspiring laundry mogul, Chris has spent about ten years in the "business" world. First, he worked for several years as a financial analyst in an investment bank and later as a Management Consultant at a top tier strategy consulting firm. In between, he received his MBA at a top business school and passed the three levels of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program.
But only since becoming an owner in the Laundromat did he really learned what it means to identify value in a business.

This book is a pretty good walk through of things to consider when evaluating a laundromat. The author does a good job of touching on things to think about - many that you may not have considered prior to purchasing. My only knocks are that there are several typos in the digital version of the book (can't speak to a hard copy, if one exists) - and at times it felt as if this book was written in one night from notes scribble together after purchasing a couple of laundromats. Not all concepts are explained thoroughly (concept and context) so if you don't understand something mentioned, it actually could create a little confusion if you don't do add'l research. If you are going to mention a concept - take the time to properly explain it - and at times it felt like the author was rushing through and not giving adequate explanations. And always have someone proof-read - it made the book feel less professional/serious and I actually felt like I overpaid at $9.99. Still, decent book - good concepts, not thorough, and at times, a bit sloppy.Product details

This book was a solid and quick read. Being a first time buy of a business a learned a great deal. I do recommend this as a read.
Great informative quick read. Covers the essential basics and eliminates the fluff. Definitely recommended for a first time laundromat buyer.
This is definitely a handy reference guide. Chris did a great job of detailing the specific steps to take when evaluating a laundromat business. He provides ideas on how to view financials and pit falls to be aware of that you may not know until it's too late. Thanks to Chris for taking the time to share his knowledge and experience. clear, concise, well thought through guide for any one considering purchasing a laundromat. the author's is an owner, who has gone through the process of finding and purchasing a laundromat business, which really shows in the book.
This handbook is a must-read for any individual interested in making a small business acquisition. The handbook succinctly teaches the reader how to make an informed investment decision while avoiding key pitfalls that, if not uncovered, can easily lead to a money-losing endeavor. By the end you will learn how to think about the most appropriate strategy for your target business, what type of owner you really are, and whether and whether a small business is for you.
